Why Is Your Engine Overheating?

At Land Rover Lakeside, we believe that our customers in Macomb should always be well informed - especially when it comes to the key components of their vehicles. With this in mind, we wanted to take a few moments to discuss some of the potential reasons why your vehicle's engine may be overheating.

The most common reason for engines to overheat is a simple lack of coolant. Your coolant levels can drop through normal usage, so it is always a good idea to check it regularly and top it up if necessary. If you find that you are replacing it a little too frequently, it may be a good idea to check for a leak.

It is also possible that your engine's overheating issues are being caused by extreme temperatures. Most engines are designed to keep running at temperatures between 195? and 220? - so if your engine gets much hotter than that, you are likely to run into some trouble.
