A Rock and Roll Legend Gets the Jaguar Car of His Dreams

Nicko McBrain bought his first Jaguar in 1987. The famous Iron Maiden drummer wouldn't stop there, however. In the decades since, he's purchased many more cars from the famed automaker and remains a devoted fan of the brand today.

This recently led him to commission a special project from the engineers at Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works in Coventry, England. Working from his requests, they completely refurbished a classic 1984 Jaguar XJ6. Over the course of 3,500 man hours, they refinished and redesigned more than 4,000 separate components. The end result? A classic Jaguar car that maintains its old school look while enjoying the benefits of a refreshed interior, modern features, and improved performance.

“This is my ultimate XJ," said McBrain, commenting on the finished product. "It has been a true labor of love between Jaguar Classic and myself." McBrain would go on to describe the car as "Greatest Hits edition" for the XJ line. His unique car does, in fact, incorporate design elements drawn from a range of Jaguar vehicles released over the past five decades."

What's perhaps most impressive about McBrain's custom car, is how it represents only a small portion of what the Jaguar brand is capable of. Contained within its modern lineup is a selection of vehicles that represent some of the finest options for luxury sedans and SUVs on the road. No matter which new Jaguar car you choose to drive, you'll enjoy top features and a distinct style. You won't have a hard time figuring out why this automaker has remained a pillar of its marketplace for so many years.
